Electrocoat

ALMA offers products and technical assistance for the electrocoat process at low voltage.

The cataphoresis e-coat (cathodic electrophoresis) is an electrolytic process that allows to coat with a protective film of organic nature any surface that has an appreciable electrical conductivity. Unlike traditional electrolytic treatments this process can be performed with racks only (not with barrels) since the film deposited, before the curing cycle, it remains soft and therefore deformable to the touch.

The processes proposed by ALMA (BTE series) are based on low viscosity emulsions, which allow to obtain excellent performance of the protective film at medium-high hardness (H – 4H) while maintaining a medium-low thickness (5 -15 microns). Furthermore the chemical nature of the emulsion has been studied to ensure high ease of rinsing and consequently to minimize the usual problems of “drop marks”, typical of the high viscosity emulsions.

Integral pigment

(CP series)
since the color is integrated in the lacquer solution, the electrolytic process gives a pigmented deposit on the piece.

Post dye

(MTP series)
in this case the lacquer film, deposited in transparent form, is then pigmented by immersion in appropriate dye solutions.

Matt finish

the addition to a standard BTE lacquer solution of a suitable matting agent (MMC series) allows to reduce the gloss of the deposited film.

Those are strengths of the BTE series:

Low temperature curing (from 115°C)

Excellent solvents resistance

Excellent wear resistance

Excellent corrosion resistance

Good acid resistance

Ease of use

Low operating costs
